Loan Servicing Collector

Location:  85 Market Street, Saugerties, NY

Job description:

Qualifications

Proficient in customer service with excellent phone etiquette. Knowledge and understanding of banking and government regulations relating to collection and foreclosure procedures. Knowledge of negotiation techniques to facilitate payment discussions.

PC experience including working knowledge of software for word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail. Knowledge and continued training on the operating system used by the Bank and the collection system used by the Bank a plus.

Overview
The Collector is responsible for contacting delinquent mortgage and loan accounts to include the preparation and issuing of late/past due notices, Home Counseling Notices, follow-up letters and phone calls, directing interviews with delinquent customers, establishing and maintaining workout agreements and filing delinquencies and foreclosures on the State of New York web site.

The Collector is also responsible for the collection of delinquent commercial loan accounts, including contacting customers regarding delinquencies, and reviewing accounts to determine if collection methods have been effective.

The Collector will make recommendations for the course of action to be taken with respect to each delinquent account and provide documentation of loan collection activities on delinquent accounts.
